The Finnish Company was born from the realisation that light plays a fundamental role in our health and wellbeing. Big Sky light is generated with a multiple of LEDs combined in a way that light spectra are very similar to the spectra found in nature. It’s quite usual to hardly distinguish a real window from Big Sky. The appearance of light field is inspire from nature and looks like sky or horizon. The light changes over the day, just like in nature to increase your wellbeing everyday.

Also, we’re all aware that light has a strong link to wellbeing, as it regulates our circadian cycle and alertness. The right kind of light, timed correctly, promotes recovery and a healthy sleep-wake cycle.

Light Cognitive can respond to the growing need of urban environment to feel connected to nature. Their products have a real impact on our wellbeing as it has been shown that natural light is essential in maintaining our normal physiology and health. Indeed, it keeps the body’s internal 24-hour clock in time.

An innovation house in Finland decided to integrate Light Cognitive solution to help employees to feel better everyday. They placed Big Sky in their co-working spaces for the wellbeing and positive mind set of their teams.

“In November, when the days started getting shorter and shorter, our members would take some 10-15 minutes in the morning to bask in the light while they have their coffee. From what I hear, the light has had a significant impact on their productivity and helped them feel more energetic. Personally, I feel that the wall has had a subtle, yet significant impact on my wellbeing. I used to suffer from seasonal affectective symtoms quite a lot, but this winter I have not felt them nearly as much. I believe the daily exposure to the light has helped me adjust to the winter time much better. Big Sky light wall is an eye-catcher, and it fits effortlessly into our space. People who visit us for the first time often think it’s a window. Then they start thinking about how pitch dark it is behind the other windows. This also shows how gentle and natural the lights are. It has been great for setting mood lights to different events and gives unique character to our space.”

Premises of L’Oreal Academy in Helsinki are mostly underground in a basement area so lighting was a key and critical top from the beginning. Light Cognitive managed to bring some natural light in their working spaces giving impression of having a real window in there.

All products can be manually set to different light scences and if users want a dynamically changing light over the day, the Sky Player feature us require. For more information, get in touch.
